Laura Graves - 08/25/16 - Preparing for the Flying Change counter canter, flying change, lateral work

Laura Graves works with a pair on the counter canter and tools necessary to create future quality changes.  The total running time of this three part video is 47:30.

Video Description

Laura warms up this pair at the trot, talking about how to show the horse to stretch and loosen their back. When they move to the canter Laura has her work on an exercise they had done the previous day to prepare for the flying change- cantering on a circle and asking for counter flexion and leg yield away from the wall for a few steps without a change in the canter. When the mare becomes tense in the walk they wait until she relaxes her topline before asking for the walk canter transition.
