Join Catherine Haddad In the second of this series of Go To Lessons, this time for a medium level horse.
In the second of this series of Go To lessons, Catherine brings us her Medium lesson. She starts with her basic expectations in any horse she works with including that they go from seat bone to hand, go forward from the leg and be symmetrical. She uses leg yielding to work on symmetry problems checking that they have equal contact on both reins, equal contact under both seat bones and did the horse move easily sideways from both legs. She rides the leg yield and demonstrates how she uses it to set up the shoulder in. Catherine explains how important it is to be able to halt without the reins as a precursor to self carriage. We get to see her work with this young horse as she works on his self carriage.
