Video Description

Cesar Torrente schools this pair on the canter pirouette. They have already warmed up, and begin with asking for more canter on the spot on a circle while keeping the horse round. He asks for a shoulder in position when the horse has a tendency to go haunches in in the right canter. To work on riding from the outside rein they ride a square with collection in the turns. Cesar has them take three steps to make the turn: first, round and on the outside rein, then position to the inside, then canter on the spot and turn. They practice the exercise in the walk to practice this series of aids. By riding a haunches in on a six meter circle they get the feeling of the shoulders turning in front of the rider.
