Dr. Moller works with a young stallion on control and canter departs. The total running time of this video is 15:00.
As Dr. Moller starts with this young fresh horse, he talks about trotting first before asking for the walk so he has a chance to get some of his energy out. He asks that the horse be able to move freely without pulling his neck down. He suggests riding more turns to create connection rather than pulling on the reins, and that he ride with a soft, consistent connection. We return to this pair in the canter work, and when they trot, Dr. Moller encourages the rider to be patient and do a transition to walk when he gets strong. In the canter they work on keeping the bending and collection before asking for the depart. When they return to the trot after the canter, Dr. Moller talks about bringing the withers back to the rider, bringing the back up. This young stallion becomes quite vocal, and they ride him through this tension. He ends this short session with an explanation of how to know how long to work the horse.
